Abstract Seismic analysis of a fractured dam is generally complex problem. This paper presents an earthquake behavior investigation concrete gravity considering dam-reservoir--foundation rock interaction. The Koyna profile, located in India, adopted this study. nonlinear finite element analyses are conducted taking into account empty and full reservoir cases, to exhibit the hydrodynamic e ect water on response. pressure modeled by fluid elements based Lagrangian approach.
